No sir. But it depends on what you are calling mounds. If I found one with a smidgen of a mound I don't call that oil slick under a mound.
I do know there are not 38 spots under mounds. All are under sand YES but bot under tall piles of sand.
When I get time I will take pictures of every oil spot and see if they are ALL under sand dunes.
i think it is just a matter of how anyone sees it. Is a pile of sand also a mound? Or just a slight bump? Anyway it is not that important because if someone wants all 40 spots they can also just clear away ALL the sand with the landscaping tool.
For me the fun is in discovering a new spot everytime i clear away a piece with a wheelloader .. yes it takes a very long time but i believe Dave did not make his maps to just be done with it in half a day..so to speak.
Offcourse anyone can play how they like, but just think of the feeling you get when you finally reached a goal after doing all the hard work..instead of being done in 5 minutes.
@traubman - very true.
I found my oil spots using a telehandler (because the bucket fills the truck better) and 2 A40G's and a tipper.
I had autodrive dump the sand to my silo and i would fill another truck while the others are away.
I also made pathways from oil pump to oil pump. It took me about 3 weeks to dig out 35 spots. 5 were done by another player.
